Do you find product placement and branded content as troublesome as do its critics? Why or why not?
I often found the product branded at outside. I thought why was not used by us the product like that but if the thing still in the range of the price to everyone. in this case the product branded always had the very expensive price the reason for the product branded was difficult in had everyone

I would have to say they are troublesome in a way. Since they are a form of embedded marketing, the message it intends to convey is somewhat misleading to people. To put it in better perspective, these products are either over rated or under rated. since they only promote them through movies or story lines, the degree of its quality is considered to be somewhat vague. take for instance, a movie where it has a famous celebrity using a certain product with intentions of promoting it. Viewers will then be driven by this phenomenon to acquire that certain product not because of its quality or the extent of its usefulness, but due to the product being used and promoted by a celebrity.
as we see, there are many product among us. such as shirt, perfume, bag, etc. but there is difference between one another. that is branded and not branded. Branded product, we always see that product which has popular branded is more expensive than the product that is not branded. why? first possibility is that product has high quality. and the second possibility, that product just sale the name of that product/ brand.for example, nike. nike is the popular branded in the world. but they sale their quality, not only the name. if we see nowadays, we can see that the not branded product can not compete the branded, because if they sale it with high sale no one wants to buy it and they can be bankrupt. that's why they are troublesome.
ReplyDeletei agree with rasydan, advertisement and movie hold the main role in this problem because some brand become popular , it because of the media. media controls our mind and it can give us big impact. for example, we see that all of Manchester united player uses MU jacket, and you think that jacket is good for you to use. then you buy it, even it has high price.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both Danny and Rasydan statement. For me those branded things is kind of troublesome, why? because you know, their existence is mostly depends from their popularity not from their quality, for instance from the movie that promoting one of branded one. Even though they have a good quality on it but mostly they set it in high price which is very hard for us to have one of their product due their cost, even worse if the branded one was used by well known actor or actress that can 'rocketing' the price to almost impossible to get by most people. So here again I stated that the branded stuff or things is not always good, (I don't say that the branded stuff is bad, is good, but it's pricey for most people, so it's kind of troublesome for us to get a good and proper stuff) you just get blinded by its popularity not from its quality.

Yeah, I totally agree. Many people nowadays buy things because of the media such as movie, video games, tv shows, magazines. Most of them don't care about the price or the quality as long as it branded. This is one of example, one of a Hollywood's top celebrity, Jenifer Lopez, promote and sell her products to audience.

in my opinion, branded stuffs is not that all bad. For instance, branded stuffs like clothes, jeans and shoes especially are according to the users themselves, example, users trust certain branded product to be their main choice, like me, i chose reebok shoes above others, because the best shoes i bought so far is a reebok and it is comfortable and nice. For a person to buy branded stuff just because some artistes popularized it is considered to be a stupid act.
Buying branded stuff is not wrong, you get satisfaction from it, but theres a line between right and wrong. it will become wrong when you are eyeing something that is way beyond your financial reach. its like brainwashing the people like saying 'look i wear this! you should wear it too, then only you will become cool'. this act is purely wrong, users have the right to choose what they like and by that choosing brands that they like and trust.
